Thermal Boundary

A heavy formation of crushed ice and dark, porous rock forms a sharp boundary against a flat metallic plate resting on a dense bed of synthetic fibers. A thick, glossy ribbon of liquid metal flows smoothly through the deep crevice separating the contrasting materials.
